My name is Dave Stacey, and this is my website. If I’m honest, I’m not quite sure what it’s for.
For a number of years, I had a website and blog (mrstacey.org.uk) and enjoyed the process of writing to capture thoughts, share ideas and experiences, and the discussions that would follow in comments and on Twitter. For various reasons, that process dried up. I left Twitter, the domain name lapsed and I never really felt a pull to do much about it.
I now work in Teacher Education at the University of Wales Trinity St David. I’m also a student on a professional doctorate. While the landscape of the internet has shifted massively, and I have crossed the threshold into the third of Douglas Adam’s stages of relations with technology, none the less I’m increasingly finding an urge to write in a blog-shaped space again. And while every other bugger seems to want a podcast or a substack, and WordPress seems to be a lot more complicated than I remember, I think I’m more comfortable here in the online equivalent of a porch-based rocking chair.
